The effective date of a status type can be set to a future date. By default, an employee that becomes inactive is delayed in their current status from becoming inactive until the pay period that they became inactive in, is processed for payroll.

Previously entered statuses cannot be edited to encourage the maintenance of employee status history.

Please note: the latest Active status entry is used for determining the length of employment. Override this by using the Is Hire Date flag on an earlier status entry.
