Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) Licensing
The PBJ module was added to the SBV software in 2016. Here are some common questions and answers about the PBJ licensing and invoices.
Question: I already have the PBJ module in my software, why do I now need to purchase it?
Answer: SBV provided a free trial of their PBJ module to all clients for 2016 data. If you wish to continue to use the PBJ module then it will require licensing.
Question: I thought that I had already licensed the PBJ module at the time that I became a client.
Answer: You license agreement will fall under one of 3 categories:
- There is no mention of the PBJ module but your license agreement will have wording such as New modules, if created, are automatically excluded from the product unless a new agreement is made between SBV and ...
- The PBJ module is listed under one of the modules that are NOT licensed
- The PBJ module is listed under one of the modules that is licensed
Unless your contract explicitly states that you have licensed the PBJ module, you will need to purchase a license for the PBJ module to continue to use it for 2017 data.

Answer: There is a one time cost on your invoice for the PBJ module that is due 1/1/2017 and then the annual licensing and maintenance will be due after 12 months every year for the same amount as your invoice.
Question: Am I locked in to using the SBV software for my PBJ submissions?
Answer: No, we are not the only vendor providing PBJ file creation. Other vendors providing PBJ are Ez PBJ, Abiliy and Prime Care.

Answer: You will not be able to create a file for 2017 PBJ data until you have paid your 2017 PBJ invoice. If you choose to not license our PBJ module, any unpaid PBJ invoices will be voided. You do not need to contact SBV as we will eventually void your invoice.
