HandPunch Network Configuration

These are the instructions for entering the network information into a HandPunch with an internal network card. You need the following network information:

  1. IP Address, e.g. 192.168.1.50
  2. Gateway Address, e.g. 192.168.1.1
  3. Subnet Mask or Host Bits, e.g. 255.255.255.0 or 8. Please use this table to determine the Host Bits if you have the Subnet Mask.

Print out this page and then fill in the IP Address, Gateway Address, and Host Bits. Please zero fill each number. For example, 192.168.1.50 should be entered as 192.168.001.050

  1. From the main screen, which reads ENTER ID, press Clear then Enter.
  2. You will see either a star symbol (*) or the text ENTER PASSWORD.
    • If you see ENTER PASSWORD, there are no employees currently enrolled in the HandPunch and you can skip to Step 6.
    • If you see a star symbol (*), continue the login process with Step 3.
  3. Enter in your Clock ID and press Enter.
  4. The displays shows PLACE HAND. Place your hand.
  5. You will see ENTER PASSWORD in the display.
  6. Press 2 then Enter.
  7. Press No until you see SET SERIAL. Before you press Yes, you must be ready to start entering the IP Address on the next step. Press Yes.
  8. Enter the 12 numbers of the IP address. Before you press Yes, you must be ready to start entering the Gateway Address on the next step. Press Yes.
  9. Enter the 12 numbers of the Gateway Address. Before you press Yes, you must be ready to start entering the Host Bits on the next step. Press Yes.
  10. Enter the Host Bits. Press Yes.
  11. The display shows 9600 baud. Press Yes.
  12. Press Clear until you are back to the main screen, which reads ENTER ID.
