In order to tell the software to put a pay type in the differential column on the payroll export, the pay type either must NOT "add to totals". If however, you have a pay type that does not add to totals but is not a differential pay type, you must enter in a payroll sort order of 1 on the Rates and Payroll tab for that pay type. This will tell the software to treat it like a regular pay type on the payroll export file. This and other settings can be overridden in the Custom Configuration.
