HandPunch Network Configuration

These are the instructions to enter the network information into the HandPunches with internal network cards. You need the following network information:

  1. IP Address, e.g. 192.168.1.50
  2. Gateway Address, e.g. 192.168.1.1
  3. Subnet Mask or Host Bits, e.g. 255.255.255.0 or 24. Please use the table below to determine the Host Bits if you have the Subnet Mask.

We suggest that you print out this page and then fill in the IP Address, Gateway Address and Host Bits. Please zero fill each number. For example, 192.168.1.50 should be entered as 192.168.001.050

Host Bits
  1. From the main screen (ENTER ID), press Clear then Enter.
  2. If you see ENTER PASSWORD in the display then there are no supervisors currently enrolled in the HandPunch. Skip to the step 6.
  3. You should be a star symbol (*) on the bottom line of the display. If you do not see the * then go back to step # 1.
  4. Enter in your Clock ID and press Enter.
  5. The displays shows PLACE HAND. Place your hand.
  6. You will see ENTER PASSWORD in the display.
  7. Press 2 then Enter.
  8. Press No (*) until you see SET SERIAL. IMPORTANT - as soon as you press Yes (#) you must be ready to start entering the IP Address on the next step. Press Yes (#).
  9. Enter the IP address. IMPORTANT - as soon as you press Yes (#) you must be ready to start entering the Gateway Address on the next step. Press Yes (#).
  10. Enter the Gateway Address. IMPORTANT - as soon as you press Yes (#) you must be ready to enter Host Bits on the next step. Press Yes (#).
  11. Enter the Host Bits. Press Yes (#) twice.
  12. Press Clear until you are back to the main screen (ENTER ID).
